    end of summer

Well, here it is October - where did the summer go?  I just completed a jewellery show and would like to thank all who attended.  It was a fun afternoon and I know some of you have started your Christmas shopping!  How time flies.  The next show on the horizon is the Aurora Borealis Fall Sale.  It is on Saturday, November 28, 2009 and will be held at the St. Andrew's Centre (12810 - 111 Avenue) from 10 am to 4 pm.  We should have 15 to 20 vendors present so there should be lots to see.  I know the show is sometimes overwhelming for first-time visitors.  It is truly amazing to see everyone's creations.

Hello all.  Last Saturday (July 11/09) as market day.  Although it started out dull and grey we finished with sunshine and great traffic.  It's wonderful to see so many people at the market enjoying the outdoors!.  I've traded one of my market dates with a fellow enthusiast.  The date is changed from September 12th to September 26th.  So, I'll be there are:  August 8, August 22 and September 26th.   Enjoy your summer!

    new beads

I finally managed to acquire additional photos of recent work.  You can look at these in Jewellery 2009, a couple of necklaces in Jewellery, one new class bead and a photo in bead animals.  Unfortunately, they're at the end of the albums - you can go backwards from the beginning and see them that way.  Hope you like what you see.

    New Year

Already almost one month into the new year - where does the time go?  I took another class last week - Sherry Bellamy from Vancouver.  I only managed one of the three days but it was awesome.  I will try to add a picture of those beads in the next couple of days.

    updates

Happy Canada Day!  The weather has been beautiful, though at 30 degrees it does get awful hot in my little shed!  I've updated the photos.  I attended two wonderful class - Michael Barley and Lisa St. Martin - I purchased one bead from each and display photos of class beads and a couple others I've made since then.  Also, a couple new ones from before the class.  Hope you enjoy them!

    time flies!

Where does the time go?  January to June is half a year - and it's gone!  Wow!  I've just completed two wonderful bead-making classes - first Michael Barley - awesome!; and second, Lisa St. Martin- stunning!  I hope to update soon with pictures of the beads from both classes.  They were both very enjoyable classes and a lot of information is bouncing around in my head - hopefully I can apply some of this to my future beads!

    new beads

I have managed to get out and play on the torch a couple of times this month.  I've made a few fish but had a problem with the fins falling off after annealing - but the last one (the one in the album) is in tact - I changed the way I applied the fins and it seems to have worked.  I also made a couple of cats - they're first attempts and a few others that need to be photographed.  I've included picture of the cats and intact fish.  Any comments would be appreciated!.

    2008

Happy New Year! 2008 rings in with hopes of health, peace, and happiness (and good beadings, of course!)

Class beads (and a few new things)

I finally took the time to scan in the images of the beads I made in the Jennifer Geldard class.  Three photos only (Class-JG-1; Class-JG-2; Class-JG-enamels).  The enamels and window bead were dones on the first day of class - the others were done on the second day.  In Class-JG-2 - the "window bead" is the amber bead; the "tie-dye quilt" is the circular bead and the "ornate" is the beautiful long and slender bead.  In Class-JG-1 are two beads made on the second day using enamels and the new took Jennifer introduced us to.  And, lastly, the one I couldn't resist - a bracelet made by Jennifer Geldard (Class-JG-bracelet).Wow, what a class!

    Thank-you

The fall sale is now a thing of the past.  Thank-you to all who came - we had a great turnout and I think the day was a success for everyone.  The week-end before the sale I took a bead-making course with Jennifer Geldard - although it was expensive it was a truly wonderful course.  I certainly learned a lot, had a good time and came home with a few beads I am proud of.  What an awesome and inspiring bead maker Jennifer is!  I will have to take pictures of a few of the beads and add them to the site.
I managed to get out to the torch tonight and and play a little - I definitely need lots more practice.  Wish me well!

    Summertime

Well, the summer is half over.  I've played a little ball, a little golf and made a few new beads and bracelets/anklets.  A few are copper - they're supposed to help those with arthritis - have a look and let me know what you think.
